KG-1200 Offset Flail Mower - 1,200 mm Working Width

The KG-1200 offset flail mower, with a 1,200 mm working width, is designed primarily for smaller farms, municipalities, and various institutions. Responding to market demands, we began developing a compact offset flail mower in 2025, built upon our more than 26 years of experience in manufacturing flail mowers.

A key priority during development was not to compete with lightweight, weakly structured Eastern European or Far Eastern machines. Our goal was to create a massive, durable, and long-lasting flail mower with appropriate material thickness and a large internal mulching chamber, making it less prone to clogging and ensuring reliable, long-term operation.

Robust Construction - Designed for a Long Service Life

The structure of the flail mower is specifically designed for high durability.

• Housing shell plate: 3 mm thick steel
• Side panels: 6 mm thick steel
• Three-point hitch: Constructed from 80×80×6 mm S355 grade box section profiles
• Linkage arms: Constructed from 100×50×5 mm S355 grade box section profiles

This ensures a highly stable and robust build.

Efficient Mulching - Professional Flail System

When designing the cutting system, we considered the use of both Y-flails and hammer flails. Since the machine is primarily intended for maintaining grassy and weed-infested areas, we ultimately opted for the Y-flail system.

The rotor features double flail coverage, which provides significantly better mulching quality compared to single-coverage rotors. The machine is equipped with Italian-made Muzzi Y-flails (42 Rockwell hardness, 8×40 mm). To achieve this double coverage, the rotor is fitted with 24 pairs, totaling 48 flails.

The rotor tube has a diameter of 114 mm with an 8.8 mm wall thickness, onto which 15 mm thick flail mounting lugs are welded. The flails are secured with M20 bolts and self-locking nuts, ensuring durable and reliable operation.

The rotors are calibrated on a computerized dynamic balancing machine, ensuring that the implement operates with extreme stability. This stability is well illustrated by the fact that a glass of water can be placed on the operating machine without vibrating off. The rotors can be returned to us at a later date for re-balancing if needed.

Reliable Drivetrain

Drive power is supplied by an Italian Comer gearbox, which transmits power to the rotor via a 3-groove V-belt drive. The required PTO speed is 540 RPM.

The V-belt pulley is machined from steel, which, unlike traditional cast iron pulleys, will not crack or break during a bearing replacement.

Compact Size - Wide Applicability

A tractor with a minimum power output of 40 HP is recommended to operate the flail mower; however, thanks to its 1,200 mm working width, it can also be operated with lower-horsepower tractors. An important requirement is that the tractor's hydraulics must have a lifting capacity of at least 1 ton, and an appropriate front counterweight must be installed. For example, the machine can be easily operated with a 36 HP MTZ (Belarus) tractor.

Ideal for Maintaining Slopes and Ditch Banks

The flail mower can be fully offset to the side of the tractor, making it highly suitable for maintaining ditch banks, slopes, and roadside areas.

• The working angle adjusts from 50° downwards to up to 90° upwards.

High-Quality Accessories

The machine comes standard with a Walterscheid double wide-angle PTO shaft. Due to the steep working angles, with a standard single-joint PTO shaft, the flail mower could only be operated in the inline, retracted position directly behind the tractor.
