KB 302 Flail Mower

Thanks to its 4,600 mm working width, the KB 302 flail mower is an ideal choice for the efficient mowing of 6-row corn and sunflower stubble, as well as overgrown, weed-infested areas.

Longitudinal Transportability

In the transport position, the machine can be towed longitudinally. In addition to the two working support wheels, it features a third wheel assembly specifically designed to facilitate road transport. It can be easily coupled to the tractor using a fold-down A-frame tow hitch.

Heavy-Duty Drivetrain and Split-Shaft Design

The flail mower is equipped with two rotor shafts; similar to models wider than 3 meters, this type utilizes a split-shaft design. Smooth and stable power delivery is ensured by a dual-drive Comer gearbox. Power transmission to the rotors is achieved via a Walterscheid PTO shaft, a countershaft supported by bearings on both sides, and a 5-groove V-belt drive on each side.

High-Density Y-Flail Rotors

The rotors are fitted with Italian-made Y-flails, featuring a hardness of 42 Rockwell, measuring 60 × 10 mm, and weighing 1 kg each. The number of blades is double compared to typical Western European machines, resulting in more complete coverage and a finer mulch. The rotor shafts undergo computerized dynamic balancing, ensuring vibration-free, smooth operation. If necessary - for example, after severe wear or striking an obstacle - the shafts can be re-balanced.

Optional Center Mower Unit

Due to the split-shaft design, an uncut strip of approximately 8-10 cm may remain where the two rotors meet. This is barely noticeable in arable fields, but can be undesirable in pastures. To eliminate this, an optional hydraulic motor-driven, vertical-axis mower unit can be ordered, which completely removes this strip utilizing its high RPM.

Adjustable Rear Hood

The implement features an openable rear hood (tailgate): it can be operated open in extremely dense vegetation to allow high throughput, while for standard crop residue management, it is advisable to keep it closed to maximize the suction effect and ensure a finer mulch.
